Kneeling Pulldown


-Knees on ground      _____(shown)
-Seated on Ball         _____
-Seated (Low Chair)  _____

-Adust cables so they are straight up in a vertical direction (this is just one of many positions ).

-Grab cables and kneel down (with either both knees or ½ kneeling) and maintain a tall kneeling position throughout exercise.

-Initiate the pulldown with the shoulder blades then bend the elbows.

-At the end of the motion, your shoulder blades should be down & in.

Note: If you want to lift more weight, you’ll  need to sit w/ knees anchored.

Competency Criteria


Client was able to maintain tall posture throughout exercise.

Forearms remained in a relative vertical position when pulling cables down (ie, forearms were NOT parallel with floor at end of motion.)

Chin remains in chin tuck position.

TIPS: This exercise can be done pulling one arm at a time or simultaneously flexing with one while the other arm is extending. Increase speed while maintaining form if using a Keiser Machine.
