Standing Lift

-Beginner (Static or Fixed Hips)
(Cable arms are in low position)

-Face sideways to the cable machine.

(To avoid cable touching you when lifting, reach hands out in front of you so hands are in line with cable, then grab cable).

-Grab the cable handle (low position) with the outside arm first then inside arm grasping the outside hand.

-With hips relatively fixed & knees slightly bent, (abs tight), lift cable over “outside” shoulder.

Note: If using a Keiser machine, increase speed of movement after you’ve master the exercise at slow speed.

If client has kyphosis (rounded upper back), and can’t extend upper back, this exercise may place undue stress on the shoulder joints.
