Standing Chop
(2 Arms)

Beginner (Static or Fixed Hips)
(Cable arms are in high position)

-Face sideways to the cable machine.

-Grab the cable handle (from high position) with the outside arm first then inside arm grasping the outside hand.

-With hips relatively fixed and knees slightly bent, & abs tight, bring cable across body with straight arms, toward your opposite hip.

-Knees stay slightly bent throughout entire exercise.

Note: If using a Keiser machine, increase speed of movement after you master the exercise at slow speed.

Competency Criteria


Client maintains a static or fixed hip position throughout exercise.

Client’s knees do not bow in throughout entire exercise.

Client’s knees remain slightly bent throughout entire exercise.

Client does not flex trunk.

Movement is simultaneous & not segmental.
